CAMPING CAMPIG CAMPING

I have had more camping in the last 2 weeks than I have in the last year. I think I have reached
my quote for the year. My Kremin family camp out was over Father's Day weekend up at Iron Springs near Vernal. Then this last week was Girls camp for the Haven ward. I will have to make
another post about the Kremin family camp out because I left the disc with pictures at my office.
Here is a little about girls camp this week. We live in South Salt Lake which is very diverse in nature. On any given day in Young Women's we can have anywhere from 2 to 25 girls which
makes planning a nightmare. When planning for camp up till a day or two before we only had for sure about 5 girls going so you can imagine we were shocked when we had 22 at camp. It threw everything off, we only had two tents, food enough for about 15, not enough sleeping bags
and it really threw the rest of the stake off when so many extra showed up. To add to the
confusion 3 of them are native English speakers and the rest are not so the language barrier is really a tough one for us. They speak a Thai language that the Book of Mormon isn't even
translated into yet. Anyway they really are sweet girls you can just tell the cultural differences are HUGE. They didn't want to wear their shoes anywhere, they littered everywhere and they
couldn't understand why they couldn't bath and wash their clothes in the river. We kept getting
in trouble by the other stake leaders because we couldn't keep eyes on all our girls. We only had
2 leaders up there at a time so we were out numbered like 10 to 1. They taught us some of their
culture, they did our make-up in the traditional manner. They sing beautifully so they just sat in
their tents for hours and sang. They are very loyal to each other so where one goes they all
go it's like a stampede. I don't know if I will ever get all their names down they are so beautiful but they tie up my tongue. I must say I probably was the worst camp leader up there because I
was on a horrible diet and was so very ornery, sorry girls! Thanks Becky for picking up all the pieces you deserve the best labor. I did get some great pictures so enjoy!
