Friends are the Spice of Life

Heavenly Father knew that I needed good friends to help me through this week. On Thursday I went to dinner with my two good friends Jaylene and Pam. I haven't seen Pam in a year, isn't that how friendships go the older you get! The good thing about these guys is that I have been friends with them since at least 6th grade so whenever we get together, no matter how long it's been, we just pick right back up where we left off. We met up for dinner at 7pm and at 11pm we decided we better head home since we all had work the next morning. We laughed, cried a little and reminisced it was just what the Doctor ordered. The next night my good friend Rachel and her husband came over to spend the night. They were in town for a wedding and needed a place to crash. Rachel is also one of those friends who I haven't seen in awhile and yet we just pick right back up. Rachel became my best friend in the 9th grade when we were on the Freshman basketball team together. She is by far one of the most entertaining people I know. She and I stayed up till 2am catching up and chatting about life,I was in heaven.
Saturday was a little lonely, I decided to go to the temple. It was a lovely session but I was still sort of having a pity party since everyone seemed to be there with their spouses. I got to the Celestial room and it was PACKED full of people who all seemed to know each other. I closed my eyes and said a prayer. I prayed that Matt would feel my love for him and asked Heavenly Father to wrap His love around him since I couldn't be with him. Then I was really feeling emotional. I left the room and on my way out I heard two cute older ladies talking to each other. The one said to her friend, "Rejoice, rejoice and come what may!" That really hit me, I felt like it was my message to just Be Happy! I was so grateful I over heard them talking because it made me grateful instead of feeling bad for myself. Don't you love the little Tender Mercies? I walked out the temple doors (Jordan River) and the beautiful mountains just took my breath away. Their quote seemed to help me open my eyes and see the world around me. It was a great day at the temple. It has been a good week and Matt and I have been so blessed.
